Our family recently stayed at Giannis, located just 4km outside Xanthi, and it turned out to be quite an experience! For just 8 euros in a taxi, we found ourselves in a surprisingly welcoming place that felt more like a cozy 3-star hotel than its humble 1-star claim suggests. As a marine biologist, I appreciate the tranquility of evenings here. The main road is nearby, but nighttime was peaceful, with only a gentle reminder of the minaret calling for prayer - truly soothing! Our little one, not yet 6, loved exploring the spacious outdoor area and making new friends. The hotel was impressively clean. I could honestly say you could eat off the floor! While we noticed a bit of a smoke smell, the friendly atmosphere and secure parking made up for it. All in all, if you're looking for a family-friendly spot with great value where your kids can roam freely, Giannis is definitely worth considering. It may not be perfect, but for the price and warmth, it delivered what we needed!
